Privacy notice

Last updated 16 September 2026

Honest Crimes Records is run by Isaac Birchall in Ruthin, North Wales. This notice explains what happens to personal details sent to us through this website. If anything here is unclear, email hello@honestcrimes.com.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us:

  • through the contact form: your name, email address, what your message is about, an optional publication, venue or company name, and your message;
  • by email: whatever you include in your email.

The contact form also records the page you sent it from and the time, and our hosting provider briefly keeps your IP address to stop the form being abused.

Why we use it

To read and reply to your message. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who get in touch, and your consent, which you give when you tick the box on the form. We do not use your details for marketing and we never sell or share them.

Who handles it for us

  • Cloudflare hosts this website and runs the contact form.
  • SMTP2GO delivers form messages to our inbox.

Both act on our instructions and keep data secure. Some processing may take place outside the UK under recognised safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep messages for as long as the conversation is useful, and delete them within two years of our last contact unless there is an ongoing reason to keep them (for example, a licensing agreement).

Your rights

You can ask to see the details we hold about you, correct them, or have them deleted. Email hello@honestcrimes.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
